Every morning we meet at 'The Mound' just before 9am from there we walk to school. The children can be collected from 'The Mound' at 3:30pm.
Our walking bus isn't just for children who live in High Bickington, the school bus drops children there, and Mums and Dads drop their children off there too.
Why do we have a walking bus?
To reduce congestion outside school and make it safer for children arriving and leaving.
To stimulate our brains and give us more energy.
It's a good social experience.
The world record for the biggest walking bus is close to 100,000! Every year we try to take part in this.
This year, the record attempt takes place on the 15th of June and we hope to all be able to join in. At 10am we will all walk around the village at the same time as other schools around the country. Mums and Dads can join in too! Let's hope we can get into the Guinness Book of Records again!
Kids of all ages from London to as far afield as The Hebridian islands all take part in this giant march for a giant reason: to say no to speeding drivers, and yes to walking!
