Lyme Regis

We had a wonderful trip this week to Lyme Regis. This revisited our learning from our first project, Dinosaur Detectives in the autumn term. We had retained so much information and enjoyed our fossil hunting experience. Our day began on the cool air conditioned bus, where we travelled well all the way to Lyme Regis. When we arrived, we walked down to the museum. We were met by Keiran our workshop leader for the day. He shared with us some real fossils and talked to us about some of the fossils which we may be able to find ourselves. We then walked to the beach, past the Mary Anning statue and we spent time fossil hunting, just like Mary Anning! After finding a few exciting discoveries, we enjoyed sitting on the beach to eat our lunch before heading back to the museum. Kieran then took us around the museum to show us some of the fossils which Mary Anning had discovered. It was amazing to see how big they were! We then finished our workshop and walked back to our cool bus before returning back to school. It was a great day!
