Class 3 - Lost Civilisation

Ancient Egypt Day

What amazing costumes and what a wonderful day they had learning about aspects of Ancient Egyptian life ... and death - including mummification.

In the morning, we did 5 different activities: sketching a Pharoah's head, playing a game about the Egyptian afterlife, putting a pot back together, looking at artefacts and making our own papyrus bookmarks. We also did some acting in role as archaeologists. In the afternoon we took part in a mummification drama to find out all the steps to make a mummy! Lily did a great job of lying very still while the procedure took place - luckily she didn't actually have her brains pulled out! 'It was so fun learning about Ancient Egypt and pretending to go in a tomb!' (Arianwen) 'My favourite part was when Neil told us a story about being in Egypt' (Megan). 'The best part was pretending to put salt on Lily the mummy!' (Reggie).
