Dear Parents and Carers,
Well done everyone for getting through what has been a very wet half term. There has been a lot of illness with seasonal coughs and colds taking their toll, but in school, children have battled on with great perseverance. We have seen some lovely work produced since January in all classes, and everyone has shown great resilience with their learning. I hope you all have a lovely week off and that when we come back the weather may be warmer and drier. School starts again on Monday 23rd February.
Book and a Biscuit
Thank you to everyone who came and shared your child's books on Monday. It is always so good to see families looking through the work the children have completed. They talk with such pride and such knowledge and I am sure you must be impressed with the outcomes that you see in all books. Our next BaaB will be on Tuesday 31st March from 3:30pm. Please do come along with your child to see what they have been up to.
Board Games Club
I am delighted to say that we will be starting a board games club immediately after half term. This will be run by Jack from Y6 and will be overseen by Mr Norton. The club will run from 3:30-4:30pm each Tuesday and is open for any child in Y2 - Y6. If you have a favourite board game that you would like to play, please bring it along on the Tuesday and we will give it a go.
A little bit of housekeeping as we come to the end of the half term ...
Guitars
Please make sure that guitars are taken home after guitar lessons with Mr Rogo on a Thursday (so that you can practice at home) and are brought back in the following Thursday morning. The music room is used for several lessons and breakfast club each day and we do not have the room to store guitars through the week.
Dogs
Can I remind you that High Bickington, like all TEAM schools, is a dog-free school. This means no dogs should be brought onto either site - including the playgrounds - nor onto the school playing field.
Have a great week,
Rob Norton
